Admittedly I wouldn't have come across Yuna without the help of Tyler's name being adjoined to the song title. However 'Castaway' leaves you pleasantly surprised at the quality of the track, even without the creators' touch, it lives longer than the powerful leg up of such a feature.
The Pop/R&B/Alt singer (whatever you want to call it these days) currently bases herself in LA, originally from Malaysia. The track comes as the first off the project Rouge which was released back in July earlier this year. It is only now that a soft and warm visual accompanies the correspondingly beautiful husky vocals of the singer. Lyrically denotating confidence and connotatively exploring strength and charisma, the simplicity of the hip-hop looped guitar carries the smoothness of a soulful vibe. The videos own colour pallette reflects that of the song and its peers on the rest of Rouge. A true sense of informed style and funk drives the rhythmic elements of 'Castaway' and is a brilliant representation of the young talents artistic direction and future within her own sound space.
