Glaswegian heroes Twin Atlantic return with the announcement of their fourth full-length project Power alongside a small run of intimate shows around the UK. Evolving from strength to strength throughout their extensive discography, the band have explored various mediums of experimenting with alternative rocks expanding boundaries. With a full band for personal favourite Free (2012) powering through to Great Divide (2015) and GLA (2016), it seems that although they have reduced in size for this cycle, the energy and charisma that OG Twin Atlantic fans latched onto, has translated gleefully via the first release Novacaine. The first of the tracks from the upcoming full-length release due 24th January 2020.
The track sees a contemporary adaptation of their previous works in Great Divide with an increased focus on vocal melodies and hooks chucked with a ton of reverb usually associated with the EDM/electronic world that the group have had a taste of with their deluxe version of Free. The lack of guitar may put off some, however, the group have had to adapt their music in correlation to their lineup and Novacaine certainly doesn't hold back on its warmth and ensued passionate delivery.

“I wanted to force myself to be more honest and open. The song tells the story of the most intimate connection I’ve ever felt with someone else - when I first met my wife. That feeling of obsession taking over every thought and reason was almost like an addiction at the time. It embarrasses us in some ways that we fell victim to such a cliched movie script love story, but equally amazes us that it ever happened.”
“The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level – we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. POWER is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power,” concludes Sam McTrusty. “And that’s what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”
