For the first time since the SKRWD project, WSTR have finally refined their newer sound into unsuspecting catchy songwriting with buckets of attitude. 'Filthy' is what they should have been releasing instead of those goddamn random covers.

It's been a long, joyous and painful road when it comes to the Liverpool pop-punk outfit. Having released two relatively forgettable albums (they did have some proper hits, don't discredit them completely) and a number of singles that were sure to enforce the fact that this is really all just a bit of fun that exploded internationally. Now I'm never going to get that Sammy with long hair back in the days of Slam Dunk 2015 where the original line-up brought some grit to UK's take on a heavily Americanised genre. However, the vocal delivery on new track 'Filthy' is filled with a sense of confidence and twang that doubles up with sing along choruses, leaving more than just myself surprised. Ignoring the Blink-182 rip off "na na na" sections the track cleverly switches up instrumentally throughout to ensure what otherwise would be a stagnant bunch of chords is actually dynamic and full of the final sweet punch of summer.
