Least to say, it has been weird experience of discovery with Hundredth. Ever since their earlier brutally heavy and raw When Will We Surrender its clear that their tastes have changed massively so upon their shock release of dark shoe-gaze record RARE. Personally unsure of how to develop a sound or create space within a generally difficult genre to explore - Hundredth have swanned in with a complete contrast to their 2017 record. The previously dark material breezes through with a perfectly balanced sweetness of brighter singles 'Whatever' and 'Cauterize'.

Already impressed with the new direction, the late summer addition of 'Leave Yourself' ventures even further into dream pop. Similar to the early efforts of Jaws but with a more controlled production and quality in regards to its jangly guitar arrangements, the track employs a proactive effort to surround itself with warmth and longevity past it's initial summer themed release date. 'Leave Yourself's simplicity and catchy repetitive lyricism disguises the underground attraction as more of a mainstream radio single whilst retaining the important rougher edge that the band has grown for itself.

Revelling in their new found influence of post punk melody, the single adapts the older techniques combining modern synth and alternative pop bass lines to round itself into a variety of beauty.
